The Three-Legged Puppy
The deputy came back to town and told the sheriff that he saw the three legged puppy - and he was headin' to town. The sheriff told him to round up a posse and meet him at the edge of town. At the edge of town, the posse, the deputy, and sheriff awaited the arrival of the three legged puppy. When they saw the puppy in the distance, the group got nervous. The anticipation became more intense as the puppy approached the group. The sheriff stepped in front of the group as asked, "three legged puppy, what are you doing here in town?" The three legged puppy stated firmly, "I've come to find the man who shot my paw."
